The 2022 NCAA Tournament starts its stretch run on Sunday as Elite Eight action wraps with two regional finals on CBS. By Sunday evening, we will have just four teams standing with regional champions in the Midwest and East set to join regional champions from the South (Villanova) and West (Duke) to form the field for this year’s Final Four.

Sunday’s slate is one riddled with underdogs vying for a berth into the final weekend of March Madness with two double-digit seeds — one in each game — and another unlikely contender in No. 8 seed North Carolina in the mix. The real Cinderella hopeful plays in the second game of the night as Saint Peter’s, the first No. 15 seed to reach the Elite Eight, faces No. 8 seed North Carolina. It’s the lowest-seeded game in Elite Eight history. As usual, the Peacocks are big underdogs, but after winning twice this tournament as a double-digit dog — the first team in tourney history to do so — smart money is on them giving UNC all it can handle.

Our experts below have dissected the slate, crunched the numbers and made picks for both of the games below both straight up and against the spread. Be sure to stick with CBS Sports throughout the rest of the month for NCAA Tournament coverage through the end of the Final Four.

NCAA Tournament: Elite Eight picks for Sunday

(1) Kansas vs. (10) Miami

Sunday, 2:20 p.m. | CBS, March Madness Live: Kansas giving away a 13-point second-half lead against Providence in the Sweet 16 before pulling away late proved it is far from perfect on offense. However, good-enough on that end of the floor might just be all it needs to send Miami packing. The Jayhawks are gelling on defense, and their physical style and ability to play big or small gives me just enough confidence to lay the number. Pick: Kansas -6

(8) North Carolina vs. (15) Saint Peter’s

Sunday, 5:05 p.m. | CBS, March Madness Live: Saint Peter’s is perhaps the best Cinderella story in NCAA Tournament history. It has made history with its run. But … it’s got to end at some point, right? I think it probably ends here. UNC has so much more talent and firepower. The Tar Heels are going to give the Peacocks fits with their willingness to push the pace and size. If Caleb Love comes even close to doing what he did against UCLA, the Heels will march into the Final Four with relative ease. Pick: North Carolina -8.5
