ANN ARBOR, MI — An Ann Arbor tech company has been named a finalist in an international competition for cloud computing.
Otava, headquartered in Ann Arbor and with branches in Indiana, Nevada, Texas and Virginia and the United Kingdom, was shortlisted in two categories for The Cloud Awards.
The Cloud Awards, now in its 10th year, recognizes industry leaders in cloud computing, a type of remote access to technology services, such as computing power, storage and data bases, through a pay-as-you-go system.
Otava is a finalist in the Best Cloud Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Solution and Best Cloud Infrastructure categories. Otava is going up against four other companies in the first category and against six in the second.
“The Cloud Awards are the foremost recognition platform for the cloud computing industry, so to be recognized at this level is an honor,” Brad Cheedle, Otava CEO, said in a statement. “The credit goes to our incredibly hardworking and dedicated team that loves nothing more than helping a client tackle a challenge that gives way to results that wildly exceed expectations.”
James Williams, head of operations for the Cloud Awards, also praised the company.
“Otava is a clear example of an organization using innovative technologies to achieve excellence – and, most importantly, provide value to its clients,” Williams said in a statement.
Final winners for The Cloud Award will be announced on Feb. 8, 2022.
