The Hand Massager helps keep your gaming hands in tip-top shape.
We all need a massage one way or another. While most people may opt to go to a spa for one to release the stress and fatigue of a hard day’s work, gamers stay home for a different kind of massage using a special piece of tech: a tabletop hand massager.
First reported by Kotaku, Japanese gaming hardware company Bauhütte specially designed the Hand Massager, for lack of a better name, to soothe gamers’ hands. It’s equipped with 15 air cushions to relieve weariness and fatigue from the palms and fingers, simulating the feeling of a hand massage you would otherwise pay someone else to do.
The Hand Massager has three different settings for how hard or soft people want their hand massage. It also has two course settings: Shiatsu mode, which massages the stiffness of the entire hand with firm pressure, and Thimble mode, so called because it only massages your fingers.
The massager can be used at any time during gameplay, but Bauhütte recommends that it be used at three different points. You can use its heater to warm up your hands before you start; to improve your blood circulation during your mid-game breaks; and to rub the stiffness out of your fingers as part of a cool-down routine when you’re finished playing.
The massaging device is also equipped with an automatic timer that stops the massage 10 minutes after the device has been turned on. The best part is, because it only comes in black, it’s suitable for any gaming desk regardless of the color or type of finish. Black goes with every color, after all.
Esports has gained mainstream popularity over the last several years, and with it came the importance of stretching your gaming hands and fingers to keep them in tip-top shape, which has been highly recommended by healthcare professionals and even Red Bull. But the Hand Massager is not only good for esports athletes and regular gamers, but also for people who sit in front of their computers for extended periods of time, especially gaming journalists.
