When Oklahoma City announced that top scorer Shai Gilgeous-Alexander would be out until after the All-Star break due to an ankle injury, attention immediately turned to Luguentz Dort and Tre Mann’s offensive impacts on the team. Both are featured in Friday’s late NBA DFS player pool in their game against Portland, but is either a sound choice to include in your NBA DFS lineups for tournaments on sites like DraftKings or FanDuel? Dort finished with a relatively inefficient 18 points five days ago against the Blazers in their last meeting, while Mann had 13 points in the OKC win.
Mann is coming off the best performance of his young career on Wednesday, when he scored 29 points with three assists against the Mavericks. Dort had his second-best outing of the season in that matchup, and dropped 30 points to go with six rebounds in the win. Before you consider adding either to your NBA DFS picks for Friday, be sure to check out the NBA DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.
McClure is a DFS professional with nearly $2 million in career winnings. He’s also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account.
This allows him to find the best NBA DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They’re a must-see for any NBA DFS player.
On Thursday, McClure included Raptors F/C Pascal Siakam as one of his top NBA DFS picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: Siakam scored a team-high 25 points to go with 13 rebounds, seven assists, two steals and a block to return 58.25 points on DraftKings and 57.1 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.
Now, McClure has turned his attention to the Friday, February 4, NBA DFS slate and locked in his top daily Fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.
Top NBA DFS picks for Friday, February 4
One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Friday is Pacers swingman Caris LeVert, who is listed at $8,400 on DraftKings and $7,600 on FanDuel. LeVert has been at the center of trade speculation for weeks, and in six starts prior to missing five games at the start of January (health and safety protocols), he averaged 25.5 points, 6.7 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals. He has a great opportunity to get back to that level on Friday against a Bulls team coming off of an overtime loss at Toronto on Thursday.
LeVert is also coming off of his best offensive performance since January 19, and has been impressive overall in his last two starts. Against Orlando on Wednesday, he scored 26 points to go with five rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block. The last time he faced Chicago on December 26, he scored 27 points along with nine assists, four rebounds, a steal and a block.
Another part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering Thunder rookie Josh Giddey ($7,700 on DraftKings and $6,000 on FanDuel). Giddey has been a regular in McClure’s top NBA DFS picks throughout the season, and he’s been particularly effective over his last three starts. During that stretch, he’s averaged 14.3 points, 9.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists, while shooting 47.5 percent from the field.
Giddey also showed well for himself in Oklahoma City’s previous win against Portland, when he finished with 14 points, 12 rebounds and four assists. Starting small forward Aaron Wiggins (ankle) will miss the game tonight, meaning Giddey will likely slide into his position. The Blazers have been a bottom-three Fantasy defense against opposing small forwards this year, which should help maximize Giddey’s potential on Friday.
